The definitive voice of Indian hockey, Sundeep Misra is an Author, Writer, Filmmaker and journalist. He has written two books on Indian Hockey, produced a film on 1964 Olympic gold medallist Prithipal Singh called ‘Prithipal Singh…a story’ and covered virtually every significant hockey tournament in the past 25 years. In 2007, he wrote the unauthorized biography of hockey legend Dhanraj Pillay titled ‘Forgive me Amma.’ His second book, India’s first Anthology on Sportswriting called ‘The Best of Indian Sports Writing’ released in 2013. The Anthology brought together India’s 16 finest sportswriters. His third book ‘The Mohammed of Benares and other stories’ was released in Dhaka during the 2017 Asian Hockey Championships. Sundeep started his career as a sports journalist. He has worked with leading media houses of India such as the Indian Express, Asian Age and India Today and has written for top publications such as Firstpost, Tehelka, Caravan, Khaleej Times, Mid-day and The Tribune. He was also the Sports Editor of TV channels Sahara Samay, News X and then the Founder Editor-in-Chief of Sports Illustrated, India which was launched by Time Inc. (USA)
