Kristen Worley has written her memoirs Woman Enough: How a Boy Became a Woman & Changed the World of Sport, which chronicles her self-realization, transition, and battle for fair and inclusive treatment in sport. Worley, who was born a boy named Chris Jackson, was the world’s first athlete to be gender tested under the 2004 Stockholm Consensus. She went on to sue the IOC for a human-rights violation. Woman Enough is the account of a human rights battle with global repercussions for the world of sport; it’s a challenge to rethink fixed ideas about gender, and it’s the extraordinary story of a boy who was rejected for who he wasn’t, and who fought back until she found out who she is. With him is celebrated author Kristen Worley, a former world-class cyclist and now international inclusivity and diversity advisor, educator, and public speaker. She is the first athlete to legally challenge the gender policies of the International Olympic Committee and related international sports bodies, which she successfully argued were designed to discriminate against female athletes.
